West Side Sewer, Water and Street Improvements
The City of Galesville is undertaking important infrastructure improvements on the west side, including the installation of new sewer and water lines, as well as necessary street construction. These upgrades are vital for ensuring the continued reliability and efficiency of our essential services and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
This work will replace the undersized water mains serving some parts of Galesville and will replace some failing sewer lines. Due to the undersized water mains, the city could only perform maintenance on the affected streets, since once the streets were torn up for total repair the city would be required to update the water mains and any sewer lines needing repair. This work was identified in the Comprehensive plan as necessary work to complete.
The sidewalks and curb and gutter will also be replaced at this time, where it is required.
The city has met multiple times with our financial advisor and now is the correct time to undertake this work. There are a few options for financing, all of which will be considered and the impact to taxes and water/sewer rates will be taken into account to make this project as financially sound as possible.
Residents living along the improvement route will be sent a letter with a request to be able to access a small part of the owner’s property.
A representative from Davy Engineering is available to answer any questions you may have and to discuss this matter further at your convivence. Please feel free to contact him.
